MATEU MORILLAS TORNÉ
He holds a degree in Geography from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. In 2014, he obtained his doctorate from the Universitat de Lleida with his thesis “Evolució del ferrocarril a Europa i la seva influència en els canvis en la distribució de la població.” El cas d’Espanya, 1848-2010. In this university, he has been forming research on the Area of Human Geography, related to the group of I+D Territori i Societat. His background in computer science and his condition as a geographer have directed his research interests towards Geographic Information Technologies and cartography. As a collaborator in various academic projects, his main tasks have been focused on the development of a geohistorical database of railways, cartographic production and, in general, support for research. Much of his work is published in individual or collaborative articles. Currently, he is working as a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Technician. As part of CITur group, he supports the research project in the elaboration and management of spatial data and in the configuration of the maps on which the researchers work.
